Annual Awards Banquet

The Southern California Restaurant Writers Association 43rd Annual Awards Banquet will be held Monday, March 27 at Tustin Ranch Golf Club beginning at 6:00PM.  A  wine reception is planned along with a gourmet four course dinner that includes wine.

Champagne Reception with Hors d’oeuvres

Pesto Crostini with Tomato Consomme and Burrata-Crostini served with Pesto, Parmesan Air and Roasted Tomato with chilled Basil, Tomato Consomme and Burrata.

Duck Carpaccio with Radicchio Slaw on Rosemary Palmier-Cold-smoked and cured Duck Breast with Creme Fraiche Radicchio and Brussels Sprouts Slaw on top of a Rosemary Palmier.

Sunrise Valley Toast Points-Creamy garlic and herb cheese with vine-ripened Red Gobal grapes tossed in champagne vinegar.

BBQ Eastern Oyster in a Half Shell-Mesquite-grilled James River Oysters stuffed with Bilbao Chorizo Salami and New Mexico Fire-Roasted Salsa Verde.

Four Course Dinner:

Course No. 1: California Wedge Salad-Garden-fresh Iceberg with Stilton Blue Cheese dressing and crumbles topped with avocado, crispy pork belly, red onions, cilantro, heirloom tomato and Yuzu Kosho.

Course No. 2: Japanese Bento-Crispy tempura Tiger Shrimp, garlic-seared Japanese Hamachi NIgiri, Hawaiian Ahi Tuna Poke and Furikake Rice plus Minnesota Spam Musubi. 

Course No. 3: Prime Ribeye-Mesquite-grilled Prime Ribeye cooked with Hawaiian Sea Salt set with a medley of wild funky forest mushrooms, roasted baby potatoes, cambozola cheese, berries and burnt thyme butter. 

Course 4:  Florida Meyer Lemon Ricotta Cookie, Belgium Dark Triple Chocolate Marshmallow Cookie, Whole-grain Mission Fig and Granny Smith Apple Cookie. 

$125 per person.
